Patreon report: November

December 06, 2018 2559

Thanks to you, this has become possible - we have prepared the results of monitoring LGBT discrimination and hate crimes. The editors combined the data obtained from project Tell About Your Trouble and the two largest LGBT chatting platforms in VKontakte social network. Read more about crimes without penalties here (only Russian version is available so far).

Monitoring results will form the basis of alternative report on human rights, which we are going to prepare and present at UN. Thank you for hope, trust and donations to the Tell About Your Trouble campaign. Now it time of the crowdfunding report.

Used funds

We continued the advertising campaign in the social network VKontakte. One advertising campaign has been launched, targeting both female and male audience

In total, 7,950.21 rubles were spent. VKontakte account balance is 3,151 ₽.

Unlike Facebook, the VKontakte platform has failed to use the full amount, what is why there is quite big balance to be transferred to the next month.

Campaign results

For the campaign, the goal "Coverage" was chosen, according to which advertising is shown to one user only once - thus, it is distributed among as many people as possible. Geographical targeting - Kazakhstan.

Total - 265,097 people have seen the advertisement of the project Tell About Your Trouble.

Statistics "Tell About Your Trouble"

Unfortunately, from time to time Tell About Your Trouble form is being filled by homophobes, which write stupid jokes, threats and insults. Alas! They do not understand, what is just a joke for them, is life and health for us.

In November, the form was filled with 7 real cases.

The project Tell About Your Trouble is a tool for monitoring cases of discrimination and hate crimes towards LGBT. Since there is no such legislative in Kazakhstan, there are no statistics, and therefore there are “no crimes”. This is what homophobes and officials say. But the community members’ experience suggest otherwise. Tell About Your Trouble allows people, with whom a disaster has occurred, and who will not go to the police because of fear, at least to report what happened to them. These statistics will become part of the alternative report on human rights in Kazakhstan in 2019, when our officials will report to UN.
